"I love the beauty of quiet attention.”

From an early age, drawing and coloring were an essential part of my life. Given paper and a handful of colored pencils, I could disappear into making for hours. That ability to fully lose myself in the creative process still defines the way I work today. Choosing a creative education therefore felt entirely natural — a decision I never doubted.
After graduating from the Design Academy Eindhoven, I worked for more than 20 years as an independent pattern and print designer, primarily for textiles. My motifs appeared through printing, screen printing, and woven structures. I have always preferred working by hand, using paint, pen, or pencil on paper. When digital production gradually replaced this tactile process and most work shifted to the computer, the joy of making diminished. I realized I needed calm, space, and autonomy to create.
I am grateful that I now have the freedom to fully focus on developing my own work. Patterns, repetition, and rhythm now find a new expression in ceramics.
I like my work to reveal itself gradually, inviting the viewer to slow down, come closer, and discover the subtle layers of attention and care embedded in each piece.
